The fish is good, I think pork ribs need to stay cooking for longer, because the meat looked red. Juices are $4. I didn't like my service charge of 18%, I was charged almost $7, I found out after I checked my receipt in my house. I should decide about tips, and not get charged out of nowhere. Unacceptable !

Decent food as of late. This used to be my go to spot. But, as of today I will no longer be a patron. They've messed up my order 3x's in a row.

If you never ordered from here you’ll be pleasantly surprised, I usually order the plater with bbq sausage, ribs, chicken, plantains and sweets plantains it’s about $120 for a large that feeds easily 10-12 people, small $70 feeds 4-6, extremely fully of flavor, love that smoked meat, this is an absolute must try restaurant for everyone, take it to go, because you’re gonna want to eat the whole platter and you don’t want to be in public when making a pig of yourself, lol

Food tastes good, yellow rice was just right. Grilled Chicken was flavorful, skirt steak was ok, sausages was a little stiff to my liking, not the kind I'm used to. Pork ribs needs to go a few more minutes under the flame, plantain was good. Paid $31 for a meat combo tray can't beat that.

Location

Welcome to Santa Luzia Barbeque, a hidden gem located at 192 1/2 Washington Ave, Belleville, NJ. This establishment delights food lovers with its rich offering of traditional Spanish Ecuadorian barbecue. Known for its smoky flavors and colorful dishes, it serves up an experience that leaves patrons longing for more.

As you step inside Santa Luzia, the mouth-watering aroma of grilled meats envelops you, setting the stage for a culinary adventure. The star of the show is undoubtedly their generous barbecue platters, designed to feed a crowd. Whether you opt for the large platter, perfect for gatherings and celebrations, or the smaller version for an intimate meal, each bite encapsulates an explosion of flavor. Customers rave about the BBQ sausage, juicy ribs, and perfectly cooked chicken. Add in some scrumptious plantains, and you've got a feast that’s hard to resist.

However, it’s not all roses. Some reviews highlight that certain dishes may need a bit more time on the grill, with mentions of pork ribs that could benefit from a longer cooking period to achieve that fall-off-the-bone quality we all crave. Yet, even with these minor hiccups, the overall consensus favors an experience brimming with flavor. The vibrant yellow rice and the well-seasoned combinations are enough to keep many coming back for more.

While the charm of Santa Luzia is undeniable, occasional service issues have been noted. A few patrons expressed frustration over service charges that felt unexpected. These seemingly trivial concerns, however, shouldn’t overshadow the overall positive dining experience offered by the restaurant.

In conclusion, Santa Luzia Barbeque is more than just a meal; it's a communal experience, inviting friends and family to share in the essence of Ecuadorian cuisine. With hearty portions and a warm atmosphere, it’s a must-try for anyone looking to explore flavors that evoke both comfort and excitement. Be prepared to indulge; once you start, you won’t want to stop!
